Meet The Artist

Hi there! I'm Chelsea, the woman behind the (he)art and soul of Bloom & Wonder.

Everything here is created with this mission in mind; to bring out the wonder in you.

I’ve always had an eye for that special something — as my mother once put it, “You always find the magical things, Chels!” As a little girl, my favorite shoes were glitter-covered, my favorite dress was velvet, and I spent time changing the makeup of my dolls to be more flattering with something that would stay on them (which, I discovered to be, nail polish). When I fell in love with music, I chose the viola for its distinctive, lower-toned quality. I have always been drawn to what is unique - and that adoration lives at the heart of my art!

While my style is not “loud,” it is bold — boldly feminine, boldly elegant, and boldly enchanting.

My passions for art and design grew alongside me while I attended music conservatory. After graduating, I spent my early professional years in my now home state of Texas doing interior design. It was during this time that my aesthetic began to take form — a symbiotic relationship between artisanal elegance and whimsical charm.

A balance between “serious” and “not-too-serious”, a yin and yang that can be both seen, and felt.

Then came motherhood - a hyperemesis gravidarum pregnancy and egregiously tough birth alongside the long, lonely, and isolating days of the pandemic. My two darlings arrived a year and a half apart, and my creativity understandably took the back seat while I cared for them full-time. The months became years, and what began as a whisper eventually turned into a total insistence in my heart: please, let me create something beautiful!

During fleeting nap times and hard-won moments of energy, I opened my first store on Etsy, and began sharing my first ever collections of print designs and pieces featuring delicate arrangements of pressed flowers, stems, and gold leaf. 

When I was ready to grow Bloom & Wonder, I realized a few very important things. First, I wanted Bloom & Wonder to be available to everyone ~ beyond the confines of a third-party site, market stall, or single city. Building the website dedicated to my vision was a big undertaking, but one I had to see through myself, despite no prior experience.

And now - it is here.
