I'm Chelsea ~ the woman behind Bloom & Wonder. Welcome!
You weren't brought here my happenstance ~ this space was created for people like you. Fellow admirers of wonder and beauty.
I’ve always had an eye for that special something — as my mother once put it, “You always find the magical things, Chels!” As a little girl, my favorite shoes were glitter-covered, my favorite dress was velvet, and I spent time changing the makeup of my dolls to be more flattering with something that would stay on them (which, I discovered to be, nail polish). When I fell in love with music, I chose the viola for its distinctive, lower-toned quality. I have always been drawn to what is unique - and that adoration lives at the heart of my art.
This Atelier is a modern-day fine artisan guild. In addition to my own original works, I also house several collections of fellow artisans who align with my values; super high quality, charm, timeless design, and of course, a touch of magic.
My passions for art and design grew alongside me while I attended music conservatory, and after graduating, I spent my early professional years in my now home state of Texas doing interior design. It was during that time that my aesthetic began to take form — a symbiotic relationship between artisanal elegance and whimsical charm.
While my style is not “loud,” it is bold — boldly feminine, boldly elegant, and boldly enchanting.
When I became a mother for the first time, I had a grueling pregnancy and even more tough birth alongside the long, isolating days of the pandemic. My two darlings arrived a year and a half apart, and my creativity understandably took the back seat, while I cared for them full-time. But as time went on, what began as a whisper turned into an insistence in my heart: let me create.
During fleeting nap times and moments, I opened my first store on Etsy, and made my first ever collections of original prints and pieces featuring delicate arrangements of real pressed flowers, stems, and gold leaf.
A few years in, I was so ready to expand and grow Bloom & Wonder, and I realized a few very important things. First, I wanted Bloom & Wonder to be available to everyone ~ beyond the confines of a third-party site, market stall, or single city. Building the entire digital "world" dedicated to facilitate vision was a massive undertaking, but one I had to see through myself. Secondly, I wanted to be a home to my own art and products in addition to those I seek out, admire, and curate myself, thus supporting more artisan's like myself.
And now - it is all here.
